Landfill Construction Projects

Responsibilities: BAS has been providing construction management services for the development of lined cells at this municipal solid waste landfill since 1992.  Elements of construction included mass excavation and grading; installation of geosynthetic clay liner, HDPE geomembrane, geotextiles, geocomposite drainage fabric, geosynthetic groundwater and leachate collection system, as well as drainage improvements.

Responsibilities: BAS has been providing construction management services in support of development projects at Prima Deshecha Landfill since 1997.  Projects have included the Phases A, A1, B, B1/A2, C1, and C2 liner systems.

Responsibilities:  BAS recently provided construction management during construction of a 3,000 linear foot storm drain channel.  This included project documentation, including meeting minutes, daily reports, schedules, payment applications, preparation and tracking of change-orders and submittals, photo logs and contract time accounting.

Responsibilities: Provided construction management and construction quality assurance during closure of a 30-year-old inactive landfill.  Maintained project documentation and budget, provided technical and design assistance, and performed construction quality control.

Responsibilities:  BAS has performed construction management during the phased closure of this City of Santa Maria landfill.  This included contract time accounting, change order tracking, and verification of progress payments. Additional services included review of shop drawings, responding to Requests for Information, and preparation of a project close-out report.

Responsibilities:  BAS provided design and construction management services during the construction of an alternative final cover system on the landfill front face.  This included CM during the installation of a monolithic final cover system, plus engineering support during the installation, abandonment, replacement, and modification of the front face landfill gas extraction system components.

Responsibilities:  BAS has provided construction management services for the development of four phases of Double-Composite Liner System at the site (Unit 5 Phases 2A, 3, 4, and 5B). Responsible for  project documentation and budget control, engineering support, and construction quality control.
