Landfill Gas Projects

Responsibilities:  BAS provided design and construction support for the development of improvements to the landfill gas extraction and treatment system at this operating landfill.  This has included landfill gas generation modeling, and design of a flare station, condensate management system, and an above-grade landfill gas extraction system

Responsibilities: BAS performed a feasibility study and designed, permitted, and constructed improvements to a landfill gas control system that was not meeting regulatory requirements for control of offsite landfill gas migration.

Responsibilities: BAS provided design and construction management services for the installation of a landfill gas extraction and treatment system. This included preparation of mechanical, process, structural designs; design of a condensate management system; permitting; equipment procurement; and construction management and start-up support.

Responsibilities: Investigated methane migration at a property adjacent to the Huntington Beach Library that the City intends to develop as a public recreational facility.  Designed a LFG  migration control system and surface emissions control system.

Responsibilities: The SR85 Landfill is a new solid waste disposal facility being developed by the City of Phoenix.  BAS was selected in 2006 to provide on-call landfill gas design services during the phased development of the site.

Skunk Creek Landfill - Phoenix, Arizona

Responsibilities: Designed a LFG extraction and treatment system to limit total Non-Methane Organic Compound emissions, as mandated by NSPS standards.   The project won the Solid Waste Association of North America's 2000 Landfill Gas Control Excellence Silver Award.

Glendale Landfill - Glendale, Arizona

Responsibilities: Designed expansion of LFG extraction system to bring the site into compliance with NSPS regulations.  One objective was to accommodate high BTU landfill gas, which will be extracted by a dedicated interior system, so it can be conveyed to a gas utilization plant to be located nearby.

Flathead County Landfill - Kalispel, Montana

Responsibilities:  BAS currently provides landfill gas regulatory compliance support, and has designed upgrades to the landfill gas extraction and treatment system at the site. This has included development and implementation of a Montana Department of Environmental Quality air quality compliance and reporting program, landfill gas system evaluation, and design of landfill gas extraction and treatment system upgrades.

Green Valley Landfill - Hong Kong

Responsibilities:  Provided engineering and design services for expansion of flare facilities. Prepared equipment specifications, construction bid package, and developed operation and maintenance manuals. With the new flare the LFG processing capacity, including existing installations, increased to 6,700 SCFM.
