Operations and Maintenance

BAS’ field technicians and engineering support personnel provide a full spectrum of design, monitoring, and maintenance support for landfills and hazardous waste sites. All field staff have OSHA-required hazardous waste site operation and emergency response training, and are fully equipped to assist in the routine and non-routine operation and repair of environmental control systems.

San Bernardino County Landfill Gas Systems O&M
Providing operation, maintenance, and monitoring of landfill gas collection and treatment systems at nine landfills operated by San Bernardino County Solid Waste Management Department. This includes non-routine work activities such as installation of additional gas monitoring probes and extraction wells, repair of gas header dislocations, and subsurface fire mitigation.

City of Phoenix Landfill Gas Systems O&M
Performing operations, maintenance, and NSPS monitoring at five landfills operated by the City of Phoenix. Responsible for flare station monitoring and maintenance, landfill gas probe monitoring, landfill gas extraction well monitoring and adjustment, and field condensate monitoring.

Mid-Valley Sanitary Landfill Groundwater Treatment System
Responsible for operations, maintenance, and monitoring of a full-scale pump-and-treat and air stripper system designed to remove VOCs from the groundwater. Includes inspection, sampling, trouble-shooting, repair, operation, and maintenance, and response to emergency and non-emergency call-outs.

San Bernardino County Groundwater Sampling Program

San Bernardino County Groundwater Sampling Program
Providing quarterly, groundwater sampling of approximately 400 monitoring stations at 26 Class III landfills owned by the County of San Bernardino. Work includes groundwater, surface water, soil-pore gas, lysimeter, landfill gas condensate, leachate, and septic pond sampling. Also perform periodic pump repairs and new pump installations, wellhead repairs, and well development.

Imperial County Groundwater Sampling Program
Performing groundwater sampling services at ten landfills owned by the County of Imperial. Work includes installation, repair and abandonment of wells, sampling of monitoring stations, and groundwater elevation measurement.

Royal Boulevard Land Reclamation Site – Torrance, CA
Providing long-term maintenance and monitoring of this closed foundry waste disposal site. Activities include final cover inspection; drainage, access road, and landscape maintenance; fence and block wall maintenance, and survey monument verification.
